Your grade point average is very important, what you did in middle school doesn’t matter, this is the big stage. Start out strong and track on how many points you need to pass after every quarter. You need a total of 240 points to pass a full year class and 120 to pass semester classes, this means you need a 60 every quarter. But do not hold your standards that low, if you get an 80 every quarter, you pass the class by the third quarter and you just pad your stats 4th quarter with no worries if you fail the final because if you fail or pass it, you already passed the class

Big take away from my time here, take challenges, if you’re thinking about it, do it. Don’t let something hard stop you from trying it out. Take AP, take Honors, take an academy, the more you do, the better you look for the outside world. Even if you do bad in an AP class, the grade isn’t still weighted and it looks good. Someone once told me this kid took all AP classes and had a 1.7 GPA and still got accepted into his top schools just because of how involved and how many challenges he took in high school
