As covid-19 spread all around the Korean society and made the 'uncontact' culture, I agree that education also had major changes in the status quo. Mostly, classes were done onilne by using platforms such as zoom and 'Google Classroom'. This made education keep the method of quarantine and made students safe from Covid than before. However, online educations still face many problems. The problem mainly discussed in this video was media literacy, and I believe that there are other serious problems such as the efficiency of learning online and differences in the educational environment arising the accessibility to the Internet according to the gap between the rich and the poor. As covid-19 changed our societies, we faced the problem of rapid variations. As a result, Many students and teachers confused with online classes, and parts of students experienced discrimination because of digital literacy and information gap. Government made effort by publishing the book to solve the digital literacy and information gap like , but the limitation of solution is clear.
First, Students who experience digital literacy couldn’t ask for help during online classes. I agree with the necessities of digital literacy education, and while i watch this video I was curious about specific methods of educating digital literacy too.
I think the most important part of digital literacy is that the ability to detect true and false. Actually there are lot of fake news these day, so it is more important to students to learn digital literacy not only for participating online class appropriately, but also for thinking clearly and critically in digital world.
In this aspect, thinking critically, I think it can expand to the necessities of debating and writing class. Most of the students are evaluated by simple test so they dont think about the ability of speaking and writing seriously but actually it is really important.
So i suggest that debating and writing class is needed for ultimate critical thinking that is helpful for the digital literacy too.
