PRIME Legal Work Experience – Summer 2026 (Dundee)
Through the PRIME initiative, Thorntons Law LLP is proud to help widen access to the legal profession for students who may otherwise not have the opportunity to gain legal work experience.
Students will spend a week immersed in legal work, taking part in interactive activities, visiting courts and universities, and gaining insight into life as a solicitor, supported by mentors throughout the week.

Why you should join our team!

The graduate apprenticeship programme is an accredited work-based learning programme combining an honours degree from RGU with the globally recognised ICAS Chartered Accountant qualification over a five year period. This is mainly completed through supported online learning and some in person university days. Academic study is combined with the practical experience you obtain from working in the office whilst you are being supported by your mentor.

We will be accepting applications until 31.03.2026, so you won’t hear back until the start of April 2026 whether you have been selected for interview or not. Interviews will be held in April 2026. The role will start late August 2026 and then the university course will commence the beginning of September 2026.

Experience one week this July as a university student: stay 5-nights in real halls of residence, explore fascinating academic subjects, develop skills, take part in fun social activities across the city, and receive expert guidance for the journey ahead. And the best part: it’s completely free to attend! All travel, accommodation, meals and activity costs are covered. 

Edinburgh has 150 places available across 16 subjects in STEM, Medicine, Arts & Humanities, and Vet Medicine. The summer school has a strong impact on participants, with pupils attending a Sutton Trust Summer School being four times more likely to receive an offer from a top university in comparison to their peers.
