The first camp she was in was Terezin. She lied to the Nazis soldiers about her age and told them she was fit to work that way she wouldn't have to be sent to the gas chamber. She told them she was 18 years old and they believed her, I mean obviously because she is still alive today. She also lied to the Nazis about her mom. She told them that her mother was younger than she really was and that she was fit and in good enough shape to work so that both of them could be sent to the right instead of the left, to the gas chambers and ovens. She and her mom survived but her father did not, her father dies in one of the camps. When they were liberated from Auschwitz in May of 1945 they went looking through the death records to see what happened to her father. She couldn't find any thing accept her fathers death record. They hid in the attic of her fathers office building for about 2 years. Until someone who knew about their spot gave them up and told the Nazis where they were. In a couple of sources she is saying "too far, too fast." She is meaning that they knew they weren't going to Germany because they were going to far and they eventually ended up in Poland. The children also weren't told where they were going, and this quote proves it.  “These children arrived in deplorable condition and were quarantined the whole time in Terezin.
