the first story about the homeless guy who was handing out his resume was a bizarre thing to do also would handing out your resume to jobs be a better idea?

At the end of the article the writer says ''The average worker takes less vacation time than a Medieval peasant?'' is there any truth to this?

"The implicit moral tends to be that, rather than fight for a society that is more empathetic and humane, everyone just needs to be more self-sacrificing, and then all our problems will be solved."

This stuck out to me because I feel like the text jumped into different life stories and examples of people and how good deeds were done for them with whatever they had going on in their lives. It leaves the feeling for the reader that it shouldn't have been this way for them regardless.

What I had interesting was that the dude was handing out his resume with a whole fit, while being homeless.

One Question I had about it is that how many money did he have left? If he didn't get anyone get his resume what money would he have to survive?

The most interesting part of the article to me was finding out that we don’t have federally-mandated maternity leave in the United States. I think this is unfair but, instead of pointing this out, the media praises the co-workers who offer their sick time to the workers in need of maternity-leave.

Why isn't this narrative spoken about more? The, "implicit moral tends to be that, rather than fight for a society that is more empathetic and humane, everyone just needs to be more self-sacrificing," should be emphasized more.

Something I found interesting was seeing how each example of something the article was critically analyzing had appeals to pathos. They all made the reader feel some type of way, good or bad.

A question I had was is “late stage capitalism” a proper term when it has been affecting the minority even when it wasn't in full effect with all the trades and markets?

One thing I found interesting about this article was that a mom has to have hours “gifted” to her in order for her to go and have time to rest and take care of her newborn baby and family. I always thought that at minimum maternity leave is necessary for at least a month(4 weeks).

A question this article raised for me is, how come that most stories aren’t feel-good stories? I don’t necessarily believe that all of these were posted to show a “depressing core” but to us as the audience it’s like, for example the guy who has Lukemima, and his boss owns a billion dollars company, who didn’t help until a the story became popular

One thing I found interested was definitely how the pregnant woman’s coworkers “donated” their working hours to cover hers. And it also fascinates me because most people would read this story and just feel happy that her coworkers made this hard self sacrifice; they don’t have many hours themself, I felt confused as to why the issue isn’t highlighted like how the contributions were.

A question I had was definitely why these people feel like they’re obligated to do this, especially the boss who gave his car to the young man who walked home all those miles.

What made him do such thing?

“Look over here at this shiny act of kindness, bravery, and fortitude!” so that you do not turn to your left to notice and question the structures that made such kindness, bravery, and fortitude necessary in the first place."

This ending stuck out to me because it sums up her point beautifully. Through out the text Goldstein is trying to show the underlying of what makes these good acts/ acts of kindness necessary in the first place. It also shows how people look at these acts of good faith/kindness rather then looking then reason to why the act was needed.

What I found most interesting was the the different stories that was used and even the different information provided with the feel good stories, I like how each one had their own way to look at it and you got to think about the different narratives of it

One question that I have is that why are they called feel good stories when really they are more of feel bad stories
