         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Louisiana, they enacted the,"Separate Car Act", which required for the Blacks and Whites to sit in separate railroad cars in 1896. Homer Plessy, whom was considered an African American, was told by the Committee of Citizens to sit in the "Whites Only" car when he rode the train,to strike against this Louisiana State Law. When he was told to evacuate from the car and move elsewhere, he refused to and was later sent to jail.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Court has decided that this Louisiana State Law was constitutional because, stated by Justice Henry Billings Brown,that the majority upheld state-imposed racial segregation. Justice Brown also said that the 14th amendment intended to establish absolute equality for the races before the law, but held that separate treatment didn't imply the inferiority of African-American.</div>]]></description>

This decision affected the Legal Court System because it didn't value African American rights at the time of the court decision(1896), even though he was a citizen of the U.S.A.</div>]]></description>
