         <title>Vocabulary and grammar are difficult to divide into two distinct areas because lexical choice is always dependen on grammar. Younger children in particularly are not interested in thinking language systems or manipulating language so as to keep lexical items from structures. They take a moe holistic interest in meaning and function of language. As they grow older, their awareness of language  and its component parts grows, and the separation and careful ananlysis of grammar and lexis can begin to take place.</title>
