Victor is pround about his invention, but there is also some details about it that repulses him

But, in a more general way, the Gothic style is created by the accumulation of precise and sharp details/elements. The fact that everything is perfectly thought and calculated (we can put this in perspective with Gothic Architecture). + of course, à relationship with death and religion

Moreover this story is fictional and is dominated by imaginary. 

-Victor was obsessed with the idea of discovering the secret of life.

Victor Frankenstein is overwhelmed by many emotions. At first we can read that he has endeavoured infinite pains to do this. Finally he’s full of happiness and starts complimenting his creation.

He finds it beautiful, the creature has the perfect features.
At the end, Victor does a conclusion concerning this hard project and that he is so proud of himself. He hasn’t got the beauty of the dream, but, the horror and digust that filled his heart. He is glad of the appearence that the creature gives and his finally succeed.
