         <description><![CDATA[<div>Some teachers like to think of Science as an objective discipline, or a field where bias is minimized by an adherence to certain  procedures. <br><br>Nothing could be further from the truth.<br><br>Science is ripe with bias, a fact which often gets overlooked, making the impact of said biases greater. To be effective Science educators we need to recognize our sources of bias and how they impact what we teach, what assumptions we make about our students, and what we expect our students to learn and do.</div>]]></description>

         <title>A class on the SOCIAL EMOTIONAL NEEDS OF ADVANCED LEARNERS. I think we could all benefit from learning more about the characteristics of our advanced learners whether they are in a gen ed, honors or AAP classes. I took the class over the summer and it was very insightful and rewarding. I think other teachers could benefit from that knowledge.</title>
