Overall, what we should be talking about more in the industry is ‘post-growth’. This means moving beyond just producing less, but reaching a point where the idea of success is not linked with the endless pursuit of growth and monetary reward – where we can really start to value people over growth and profit; a sentiment that is really at the core of Fashion Revolution. We need an industry that embraces the idea that there is value in conserving precious resources and restoring the environment and where the culture of transparency and accountability is at the core.

In 2019 they initiated the label GOOD CHOICE with the purpose to help customers identify sustainable products from House of Dagmar. Products labeled with GOOD CHOICE consist of at least 50% more sustainable materials, such as GOTS-certified organic cotton, mulesing-free merino wool, chrome free leather, regenerated fibers and FSC-certified viscose. In 2020 90% of their collection carried the label.

The initiative is focusing on Bangladesh as it arguably possesses the most in-demand and recyclable waste of any garment producing country, but the majority of its waste is currently being exported and/or downcycled. Therefore, there is a substantial opportunity to make it a leader in circularity by scaling the recycling capacity in the country and generating more value from these waste streams. Following the hardships in the country generated by COVID-19, this approach also aims build industry resilience for the future.
