BeeLine Reader - Extension that makes screen reading easier and more engaging with gradients. Used for students that have trouble reading a lot of text on the screen and want to be more engaged.

Book Creator - Allows students to create their own online books. Used for students as a way to complete fun and creative projects/assessments.

Mentimeter - Tool that can be used for quick engagement or lesson introductions. Used as a way to engage students at the beginning of a lesson and/or quickly gauge student understanding.

Padlet - Allows students to create a bulletin board of links and more and can collaborate on projects together. Used as a creative way for keeping track of important information, creating engaging projects, anonymous group discussion, etc.

I really like this! I think having a tool to help create outlines, maps, character chats, etc. will make students more likely to use them. I know I am not an outline person just because I felt like it took too much effort. It has a lot of pre made shapes to easily add into whatever you're making. I think this can be used for parts of stories that are confusing that you maybe need a chart to help you remember key details or starting an essay. I do think it could look a little nicer though, like although it is easy to navigate I feel like it kind of looks like MS paint haha.

I personally really struggle to read online and find myself having trouble seeing exactly what line of text I should be focusing on. When I saw how this worked on the website, I instantly saw how much easier it made reading the screen. I think this is something that can be used on many website, online texts, etc. Its whole purpose is to make it more engaging and help your eye follow the text correctly and I had no idea this was even a thing! I do not think it can apply to like, images to my knowledge which is a bit of a drawback.

I love this! It has so many fun tools that you can use to make your book. Not only can you add text and draw, they have a feature where if you start drawing a photo, it can detect what you were trying to draw and provide you with a "sticker" (kinda?) of what you were drawing. I tested this by drawing a cloud shape with two lines coming from the bottom and it knew I was trying to draw a tree and allowed me to replace my image with that tree. They also allow you to add and record audio in the book as well which is so cool. It is definitely engaging, but it does seem very time consuming so I don't know if it would be used more than once, maybeeee twice a year. But for large creative summative projects I definitely like this as a resource.

I remember using this at a business conference in high school and never seeing it used again until out class haha. I like just how many different activities there are to do, like a simple poll, the word cloud, open ended questions, etc. I can see myself using this for set inductions and closures and it can be done quickly that it is a great way to engage students. I just really like how simple it is

I used this for the first time my first semester at Muhlenberg in a media com class and it was used for our semester long project where we had to find articles and write responses along with them. I found it very easy to navigate; I am using it currently haha. I like how there is customization so students can personalise what they make. We also used it in PPD to anonymously start a group discussion so I can see this being used for longer projects but also shorter responses which is nice.

I use text to speech even now in college because I struggle just reading silently , I feel like I take things in more when I have them read to me and I can follow along with the text. It is very easy to use just by copy and pasting the text over, and it is customizable. I also saw fieldwork students use it when they didn't understand a word or sentence on paper, but then understood once it was read aloud. The drawback I can see is it being used for its not intended purpose. They have many voices to choose from, like some are celebrities and I think it could be a distraction at times, but this was the one that seemed the easiest to use and I have heard people talk about it before. I think as long as it is used for the correct purposes it can be made engaging but not distracting.

OK! This is a fail, but I wanted to include it anyway haha. This website is veryyyy old and basically none of the links go to where they should and you only get error messages. But I thought I should include my failure because I still like my thinking behind it. I wanted a way to do virtual field trips to museums if they had relevant exhibits to course content, or ways to explore places we are reading in a text, like Mont Blanc in Frankenstein that could be more engaging than just images. This was the only website where I saw an organized list of options. So I think what I would want to do is honestly make my own list of helpful and fun tours and trips to use in the classroom just like this...but have it actually work. Does the site work? no. Are there many sites like actual museum websites and such that have their individual links to tours that do work? yes. I would just have to go one step further and compile a list myself haha.

I feel like this is a given tool, but is can do so much I wanted to include it. Most kids are aware of how to use this, but from a teacher perspective it can allow you to show engaging videos in cass. for me, this can range from audiobooks, author interviews, real life footage of something, and more. I could also post my own videos for students to refer back to as well. The downside is that I learned in Emergent Bilingual that if you show a video, there needs to be some type of worksheet or soemntung to go along with it to make sure students are engaged, but I have no problem with that.

Learned about this from Ana! This just seems like a more elevated canva that has more engaging templates that can move and you can interact with as well as some game features as well. I saw what Ana was able to do with her version of this assignment and I loved it so I wanted to include it in here. I do struggle a bit with using canva personally, so this could be a challenge for students but I also think a lot of people are better at using canva than me so I don't know if that's the best test or not haha. But I was able to navigate this site easily and can see it be used as ways for presenting information to students or if they have any presentations to do.

Used this for the first time at Muhlenberg as well and I love it! Dylan used it a lot in Emergent Bilinguals with us for quick group work or individual work that then can be shared with hr whole class. I found it very easy to navigate. I sort of see this in the same way as Mentimeter where it can be used very often and quickly especially with older high schoolers to do individual work we then can look at together as a class anonymously.

5) Just overall, being able to do more with these tools than if they weren't used. It needs to have a purpose and if the goal could be achieved without it, then what is the point?
