         <description><![CDATA[<div>First, I know that the periodic table is an important tool for scientists to help them categorize elements and even predict the characteristics of other elements. Also, the rows in a periodic table are called periods and the columns are called groups. Each of the elements in the row or column share a characteristic with the other elements in the period or group. Additionally, there are 18 different columns. Some of those columns are the Alkali metals (group 1), transition metals (groups 3-12), and the oxygen family (group 16). Dmitri Mendeleev first created the periodic table by organizing the elements by atomic mass, or the average mass of all the isotopes in that element. Nowadays, the periodic table we use is sorted by atomic number.</div>]]></description>

It is grouped so that the similar elements are near each other. There are eight main groups:&nbsp;<br>•Alkali Metals: so reactive they are never found outside of a compound in nature<br>•Alkaline Earth Metals: these are slightly less reactive as well as being shiner and denser, although they are still never found as a pure element in nature.&nbsp;<br>•Other metals: the metals that don’t really fit anywhere else.<br>•Metalloids: these have properties of metals as well as non metals.&nbsp;<br>•Non-Metals: these are liquids, gases, and solids that don’t really have much else in common, although they are the only group to have all of three of the main states of matter included.&nbsp;<br>•Noble Gases: these gases are not naturally found in compounds.&nbsp;<br>•Transition and Inner Transition Metals: these metals have high melting points and are hard and shiny.<br>Many rows contain different element families. It includes the atomic symbol and number as well as what state of matter the element is in at room temperature (which is around 70 degrees Fahrenheit). As scientific knowledges grows, so will the periodic table, as many elements are so reactive that they are not found pure naturally, so the scientists have to separate the compound, which, as technology advances, scientists will be able to separate more compounds easier, which will lead to more discoveries.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

I did not know this when i first came in here, but experiencing it in the expert groups was really cool! another thing I learned was the safety symbols like toxic or radioactive. During this class, I saw the symbols and saw them on trucks, barrels, and a couple other things. It was pretty neat. The biggest thing I learned here was mixtures and compounds. mixtures can be separated with many ways to do it. Decantation, evaporation, you can use magnets to do it, too!</div>]]></description>

A periodic table has cells for each element. Each cell shows the elements name, chemical symbol, atomic mass, and atomic number. The pattern repeats each period, so it can be useful to classify elements with similar characteristics into a specific group. The periodic tables elements hold a lot of information about the elements such as elements atomic weight, physical state, shortened form, full form, its number on the periodic table, and more. The periodic table also is very helpful for predicting new elements. Because the periodic table runs in a pattern, it can be used to predict a future element or to identify a newly discovered element as well.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The periodic table is one of the most elaborate explanations of all the elements and substances of our world. They are split into respective groupings which emphasize how they were made. At the bottom of the table there are two special rows referred to as lanthanides and actinides. These two types of elements originally were from the middle of the table. However due to ease of access purposes they put it at the bottom. Lanthanides refer to rare Earth metals, they are mainly metals such as lanthanum which is a substance used in permanent magnets and in car production. Actinides are the elements made artificially(in a laboratory), actinides are always radioactive. There is another classification to refer to elements that come after uranium in the periodic table of elements these were all made by nuclear reactions.<br>The periodic table is truly fascinating in all aspects of its information, it is a game changing innovation.</div>]]></description>
