“A Christmas wish”

Christmas!!!

It’s a time of happiness, celebrations, lights, sweets. Christmas trees...

But it’s also time of giving, helping, thinking of each other and wishing everyone to be healthy, joyful … and compassionate with others.

It’s Christmas. Let’s open up our hearts! What I and All kids on the world want to say is: no difference on skin colour or religion or place of origin. Not lower or upper, not better or worse. Same opportunities and acceptance of everyone!

Finally, I would expect and wish Christmas spirit could touch and be above all people! Borders can be ONLY on maps and NOT in real LIFE!

May little Jesus Christ brighten all people’s lives!!

                                                                                       So this is Christmas!

                                                                                         Amalia Kessidou

                                                                                                              St1

“The best Christmas present”

This morning, I woke up and got ready for a walk. My parents told me to get into the car instead.

On the way, I realized we were going to the airport! I was surprised to hear that we would travel to Rome. I was excited!! It was Christmas Eve! Everything was amazing, glittering and decorated!

When we arrived in Rome, we saw thousands of Christmas trees, lights and decorations all around.

We went on a guided tour and saw lots of sights. We also walked around the city and visited a lot of monuments.

The next day, was Christmas!

It was magic... We really had a great time!

                                                                                    Maria Papadopoulou

                                                                                                              St1

“The Christmas tree in Vilnius”

It was the beginning of December and I was on the plane travelling to Vilnius with my teachers and classmates, though (via) the Erasmus programme.

Our plane landed on the frozen Vilnius airport at dawn, at -2 oC. We wore our caps, gloves, scarves and drank hot cocoa brought by our headmaster just for us.

We headed for hotel; as soon as we checked in, we got ready for the fantastic central square of the city. There, were presentations for the lighting of the huge Christmas tree. Everything was marvelous! White Christmas with lots of snow and thousands of colourful lights.

Despite the uniqueness and dazzle there was anxiety everywhere! What had happened? The tour guide approached us and said: “the central light of the Christmas tree had been lost and all the ceremony would be a “catastrophe”.

It was the time!! Our headmaster told us: “We, the 2nd Primary School of Drapetsona, will be the Christmas detectives”. We took action. We were searching…, seeking…looking…for hours and hours… And… Oh, God! There was something sparkling next to an electric scooter. It looked like the one we were told about.

We got it!! Lucky us!

We gave it to the man, in charge of the celebration!

Hooray!! It was so magic and unexpected! The Mayor of the city invited us to light up the Christmas tree, so to honour us.

It’s 20:00!!! 3… 2… 1.

Merry Christmas everyone!

                                                                                           John Stefanidis

                                                                                                          St2
