The scientists recorded a mysterious sound , called The Bloop, that sounds like some form of complex language. According to Dr. Webster, there were "multiple individuals, literally thousands of different signifiers." This suggests a sentient underwater creature capable of speech.

For centuries, strange spears made of bone and stingray barbs have washed up, some stabbed into fish or sharks. These suggest intelligent underwater creatures capable of tool-making.

It is known that many sea creatures evolved from terrestrial creatures, such as orcas from a lupine ancestor. Polar bears are an example of brown bears that, in the words of one scientist, "we are witnessing transforming into a sea animal." It stands to reason that some humanoid ancestors could have done the same given that humans have aquatic adaptations such as holding their breath and lack of hair.
