When they were at the 2nd latch they saw that there were mobs of monkey boys coming after them which they have became animals. The monkey boys bring them to their leader Mongo The Magnifient. Which it turns out after seeing his hologram Ryter asked to see the real version of him. Everyone one scared because no one was allowed to go in his room. When Ryter got there he found that Mongo had a mindprobe in and was laying in his own fluids and smelled terrible. This makes the tek boss become the leader and name himself Gorm the Great. When Gorm is the new leader he says that he wants Ryter to be an advisor. Ryter declines as they were going to save Bean but before he leaves he tells Gorm to be careful of having an advisor to early because Mongo was the last one and killed the last leader. When the smoke clears they finally see a proov girl which Spaz instantly recognises as the same one who gave him the edibles. The proov says that her name is lanaya she also is being attacked by a swarm of people even more viscous and savage then the monkey boys only knowing the word eat. Ryter risks his life to attract the mob elsewhere which helps all of them get away. When they get to the forbidden zone they just tell the takvee to avoid the mines. They come across another takvee which they easily avoid. about halfway through they get intercepted by Lotti Getts. Lotti Getts tells them that there is a latch runner who is selling Mindprobes and they need to be found and reported. They went to the trading area to find someone whos selling some so they could buy it. They come across a person named Vida Bleek who happened to sell Mindprobes. Vida had a bunch of fury's which are assasins. When they are about to die Lotti getts has a whole bunch of her vandals who kill everyone there. Spaz and his friends manage to get away. Spaz and Ryter have never seen a blue sky or green grass before. The best part is that Lanaya lives in a huge palace. When they get there they also find out that parents are called contributors. Bean beats one of the best chess players in Eden with her first attempt after being cured of luekmia. Ryter, Spaz, and lanaya go to lanaya's room. They find a computer which can see everything Ryter ask to see the grandcanyon and the screen shows the grandcanyon and gives facts about it. While Lanaya gave a large speech on their accomplishments and how they should be able to stay. The crowd still voted that they should be kicked out. Spaz is being chased down by other people when suddenly Billy Bizmo comes in with a chetty blade and a splat gun. Billy tells Spaz that he is his father this makes Spaz confused. When they are about to wheel Ryter, Spaz tries to save his friend but Ryter tells him not to or he would be next. Spaz sees the lifeless body with broken bones that used to be Ryter and runs away.
