Karana made weapons because if the Aluets or animals where mean to her or not kind she would trigger them with the  weapons but not shout since she vowed to never kill another animal. She is using them as a threat. Karana will continue her life without Rontu by getting another pet and forgetting about just like how she did with her brother.
