What facial expressions are there in the graphic novel?

* He expresses a mix of sadness and anger in the first 2 pages.

* The picture below is a facial expression, that David makes, because his brother is bullying him. This facial expression shows clearly that he doesn't feel secure and safe in the house. His expression shows unhappy, nervous, scared and insecure. That can mean that he don't feel safe when he's home, he feels like he is also going to be prepared for anything.

How do the drawings characterize David?

- the drawings characterize David as a young kid, who doesn't feel like he belongs in this world. He tries to belong, by making the alice side, but that just makes him even more unpopular. The drawings characterize him as a boy, who is unhappy and mistreated, his parents doesn't really show him any love, and that makes him moody and gloomy.

* In the first two pages he looks very sad
* On page three he has a more confused face
* On many pages we do not even see his face
* He turns childish and happy, and more calm when he begins to draw
* He is very concentrated about his drawing, and turns sad/angry when his step father/father/brother interrupts him.
* When he walks to the office he seems a little curious
* He feels good and like an adult in the beginning when he is in the office.
* When he sees the pictures he is curious, but shocked after he sees them
* He looks like it is too much, and walks back to his childhood plays. Goes to be Alice.
