         <title>The Stamp Act 1765</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In January 1776 Thomas Paine published a document called the Common sense. Thomas Paine believed that everyone had rights which were to govern their own affairs, and to separate from the rule of the Monarch. George Washington also said that the "common Sense" was working a powerful change in the minds of men. It also sold more than 100,000 copies.</div>]]></description>

The states' first constitution, The Articles of Confederation created a weak central government that lacked the power to deal with the nations problems. In 1787 delegates met in Philadelphia at the Constitutional convention to revise the Articles of Confederation.</div>]]></description>

The reason people did this was because they wanted to protest a British tax on tea. This was important because all of this tension is what lead to the Revolutionary war later on.</div>]]></description>
