Making fun of someone for any reason is savage even if you are just joking around. The new student in the class may feel he is not wanted or not accepted because his group members are making fun of him on his first day in the class. Some people may act civil ask the group members making fun of the new student to stop what they are doing. I would not do that. If you are to bring attention to what your group members are doing to this new student, then the new student may feel power less and even more embarrassed. I would be civil, I would start with a conversation by introducing myself and group members and follow up with a question like, “I love your accent, where are you from?” I would then have each group member introduce themselves individually. This will take the focus off of making fun of the student and turn the focus on introductions. I would also talk to the new student after class and explain that sometimes our group members can be a little bit immature.

How I would convice my friends not to act savage is to by maintaining order from them. And have them think about what their actions can led to. Such as getting arrested, paying for damaged property or even hurting others. In order for them to be civilized is to act respectfully from the things they are surrounded from. Like people, property, themselves. Having a peaceful protest can lead to no deaths, injuries, arrest. Protesting with your friends on what something you believe in is a good way to act civilized around others with respect.

In order to convince my friends to stop I would be savage and grab on to him but making sure I'm not hurting him to a neutral location. Then, I would be civil and start by trying to cool him down. Once he has become calm I'll start questioning his actions. I'll ask why you did that, was there a purpose to it, and state to him he's just wasting his time. If he still doesn't believe me, I'll tell him that he is increasing his chances to going to jail over something that wasn't that necessary. Once the facts start processing into his brain, I'll explain to him why we are here. Finally, we can go to the protest and act civil. Hopefully, he has become civil like me.
