  • It is the third book in a series called the three body problem. It is a future where earth and a species called trisolarians are at war. Earth used a form of mutually assured deterrence call dark forest where it assumes there are civilisations that will eliminate any rivals without investigation. This means earth will broadcast the trisolarians location which in turn will also reveal earth's location, meaning if one of them dies, both of them die
