I am from a Hispanic household. I am a student from Oyster Bay High school. Growing up with immigrant parents is very different from non immigrant parents. They expect so much from you because they had to sacrifice leaving their home country to give me and my sister a better life that they couldn't have.

Obstacles I had to face had to be the unexpected deaths in my life. These deaths have caused me to look at life in a different way, and to not take anything for granted. I don't believe in parents comparing their children to other people/children. I can understand that parents think that this can cause their children to have personal growth or to trick them into thinking that the decisions or choices that someone else makes are good and would make them think like them more. I fear that this can cause doubt or increases because they cant keep up with the perspective their parents want from them.

My sister has done a lot for me and my parents. She has always helped me with homework or my parents with documents that they didn't understand. She put what she had aside to put us first.

Something that makes me lose track of time is being with the right people like my family or friends. They make time go by faster because its always fun being with them and even with the littlest conversation they make it worth it.
