Lily loved to ask questions, big and small. She was always wondering about the world around her.

One day, Lily's mom baked a delicious batch of chocolate chip cookies. Lily couldn't wait to try one! She grabbed a cookie and took a big bite. But when she turned around, the plate of cookies was empty!

"Who ate all the cookies?" Lily asked, her eyes wide with surprise. Her mom smiled. "I don't know, dear. Maybe it was a hungry monster."

Lily giggled. "A monster? Really?"

"Well, maybe," her mom replied. "But I think it might have been someone in this house."

Lily's little mind started racing. She thought about her dad, her brother, and even her pet cat, Whiskers. She asked each of them if they had eaten the cookies, but they all denied it.

"Maybe we should ask Whiskers," Lily suggested. Her mom laughed. "I don't think Whiskers can talk, Lily."

Lily thought for a moment. Then, a brilliant idea popped into her head. She went to the kitchen and looked under the table.

There, she found a pile of crumbs and a guilty-looking Whiskers. "Aha!" Lily exclaimed. "I knew it! Whiskers ate the cookies!"

Her mom smiled. "Well, it seems like you've solved the mystery, detective."

Lily learned that day that asking questions can help you discover the truth. And sometimes, the answers are closer than you think.

Just like Lily, when we are curious and look for clues, we can solve problems. It reminds us that sometimes the answers are closer than we think.
