Setting/society: Due to a massive population growth, there were about 15 billion people in the world in the 2060s – way too many than what the earth has resources for. Thus, there were wars especially on food and water between all countries that could have let to the extinction of humanity if it had gone on for longer. The solution was a central government for each continent – with a strict one child policy. For this, scientist developed a substance, which was injected to females at birth to prevent them from having more than one child. But it turns out that this does not work everyone. To prevent overpopulation and wars, the redundant children are “collected” by a special force of the government and given to a family with no children. Actually, the redundant children never arrive in their new families and instead are killed.

Characters: A girl with two younger twin sisters (in the following called 1 and 2)

Plot: The oldest sister disappears mysteriously and the twins decide to take her place, each two days in a row instead of hiding in their apartment like they did their whole life. Coincidently, 1 sees  a movement in a window on the other side of the street, in an apartment where nobody should be as the whole family is at work. After some time, she decides to go to the other apartment and becomes witness of how the special force of the government kills the boy, who was hiding there, but decides not to tell 2 what she saw. Later on, 2 tells the government that she has a sister and the special force wants to get 1, but she finds out and is able to flee.
