Unfortunately i couldn't help myself from going extra, i enjoyed the idea and concept of this project so much Sorry- in Advance. I included my inspiration, thought process, what i must think through when creating the final piece (which is still a work in progress unfortunately, i will post the link once i have completed it fully) but here goes:

I decided i will make an animatic about a fish folk, shes not a mermaid, shes not fully human nor fish, she doesn't know who she really is. She finds herself in a strange and unfamiliar place, curiosity gets the better of her and she gets to exploring, discovering strange and fantastic species she couldn't ever dream of seeing so far down below. Yet curiosity leads to an end, when she hits a wall, and she cannot go any further, almost like a bubble, everything disappears, the species, weird and fascinating, the flora, and the will to explore further. It was all just her imagination, as shes stuck in containment, the only successful fish and human hybrid to be ever created, yet this fact unknown to her. One thing has remained however, it didn't disappear with the jellyfish or angler fish- its the hope. The glimmer of hope that one day she will truly see those amazing species of marine wildlife with her own two glowing eyes.

My summer project is about a strange spider creature living in a girl's room. The girl is scared of spiders so the little creature makes it his mission to say hello and show her there's more to someone than just their appearance. In the process he tells her to not be ashamed of being herself and there's nothing wrong with being a bit different.
I chose this topic because I have arachnophobia and the idea of telling the story where someone overcomes their fear of spiders appealed to me. I also wanted to include the theme of accepting people for who they are no matter what they look like.
The style of this storyboard is very different to my normal style, as I can be a perfectionist and obsess over making my art as clean and correct as I can, so I tried to step out of my comfort zone by deliberately creating a cartoon sketchbook-like ink style and forcing myself to not correct everything. I also usually work in colour so this time I left everything monochrome except for a few key colours such as the blue of her hair.
I also used photos in my storyboard by outlining them in ink to make them stand out. I thought this was an interesting technique and something I would like to use in future projects, especially if I took my own photos.

The work that I have made for the summer porject is in the shape of a comic with directions here and there.

The story is about a bounty hunter searching for a wanted musketeer look-alike traveller to cahs in the reward for killing him. He visits a saloon and gets information from a bartender that lost his eye due to the musketeer. The saloon policy forces the bounty hunter to pay. After paying in cash, the bartender tells him his story and shows a train line that the musketeer took. The bartender allows the bounty hunter to saty overnight in the room upstairs.

The story is inspired by old cowboy cartoons and shows, combined with detective cartoons, where someone needs to unveil the mistery of their objective, taget or person.

For the summer project, I decided to try something new. I tried an artstyle that is popular in japanese horror manga but with a western twist. Several aspects are kept in a cartoonish artstyle to maintain the simplicity that i was striking for. One more clear inspiration would be Will Burke. (https://www.instagram.com/will___burke/?hl=en)

This is my summer project, and there wasn’t anything going on it, but trying and using water colours.

This is a storyboard, and it’s all about a life of a rain drop, and how I came up with this idea is that when I read the scheme on what to do for the summer project, I decided to try and think of something that could be non human, and I though how about a rain drop, a rain drop seems like a cool thing to do, and I feel like no one hasn’t really done it, so I wanted it to be unique. So the story is about how a raindrop comes from the sky because of the weather and the weather being rainy, and then looking at houses to see how beautiful the place is.

Nothing special with my art style, it was kind of like a childish style, that you can say my art work is.

I also used water colours because I wanted colour into my storyboard, I wanted something more, then just black and white, but I also wanted to show the importance of each scene with colour, an example on the first square of the second row, i coloured the raindrop and the window but left the bricks (walls) black and white because it wasn’t really important. This then makes it seem like the raindrop goal is to try and slid onto the window, so that it can take a good look at it.

But nothing really inspired me, accept thinking of how unique I can make it, and using the raindrop as the uniqueness to my story, I could try and make a good storyboard out of it, and try and make it visually good.

This story is based on the idea of a shoulder Angel and Devil's job. During the comic, two of the workers (Terry and Lucy) are asked by their boss to teach two newcomers about how their job actually works (from my perspective). Eventually upon teaching the newbies on how the job works, one seems to ask some (technically) invalid questions.

This project was initially based on comics, however I was more intruiged with the style of manga (where the panels read from right to left). I also kept to a solid colour scheme for it (using only black, white and red) to keep the style simple, making it easier to understand what is going on within each panel. I was also inspired by the style of a Youtuber called Let Me Explain Studios - https://www.youtube.com/user/LetMeExplainStudios - where she was able to bring emotion to her characters without the use of mouths, so I based the style of my characters on hers.

I have to give a link to the One drive folder rather than upload the images because I don't have the proper editing equipment to do it and also because there's a lot of pages to it (14) - https://1drv.ms/f/s!ApWofF1w4XOJlFhjXtA9g-NVzWj9

A story about a spring green frog, who spends his days eating flies, and fishing for water insects so he can feed his froggy family.

My inspiration behind the art style and character came from "Over the Garden Wall", a story about 2 boys who find them selves lost in the Unknown. The youngest of the boys, Greg, carries around a frog throughout the story, and is always deciding what he should be named.
The idea of having him go fishing came from the fact that fishing is wholesome. I wanted my frog to be portrayed as a simple man (or frog), going about his daily business, much like an old farmer, tending to his crops every crisp morning, or a friendly old lady watering her flower garden.
I set my piece in a swamp, which allowed for a beautiful contrast of the murky water and dull colours against the brightness of the beautiful, early sun rise.

I wanted to keep my storyboard short and simple, much like the frog
