Camarines Sur is hilly and mountainous with a flat central area known as the Bikol plain. It is generally flat at the midsection, between mountain ranges, with other small coastal plains on the northeastern coast. These areas are circumscribed by rolling hills. The ravines are deep, while steep slopes are covered only by cogon. Mangroves and nipa swamps form along both coasts of the province.

Two mountain ranges also envelop the province. The Tangkong Baka mountain range, the lower portion of the Sierra Madre Mountain system, and the Calinigan Mountain Range (904 meters) are located in the Partido area. Other mountains in the province are Mt. Sugutin (366 meters), Mt. Tiis (610 meters), Saddle Peak (1,028 meters), Triple Peak (638 meters), Mt. Putianay (640 meters), Mt. Elizario (508 meters), and Mt. Talitig (385 meters).

The province's water resources, both ground and surface waters, are abundant and could very well meet the various demands of development. There are also numerous hydroelectric potential resources and large areas for irrigated area development and expansion.

Its inland waters consist of rivers, streams, and creeks that serve as natural drainage, particularly in the basin area. There are also three fresh-water lakes, namely, Lake Bato, Lake Buhi, and Lake Baao, with a combined surface area of 5,482 has.

The Bicol River, the largest river in the region, is considered the main drainage channel for the major basin area of the Bicol Plains. With an approximate length of 95 kilometers, it begins at the outlet of Lake Bato and flows across the plain to San Miguel Bay. Its tributaries have formed the famous Bicol River Basin, comprising 312,000 hectares of fertile agricultural land, including 185,000 hectares of a watershed.

Sur. and its neighboring municipalities.

From 2001 to 2020, Naga City lost 147ha of tree cover, equivalent to a 5.8% decrease in tree cover since 2000, and 77.1kt of CO₂ emissions. From 2013 to 2020, 57% of tree cover loss in Naga City occurred within natural forest. The total loss within natural forest was equivalent to 12.0kt of CO₂ emissions.

For the first figure, from 2001 to 2020, Naga City lost 147ha of relative tree cover, equivalent to a 100% decrease since 2000 and 1.1% of the global total.

For the second figure, from 2001 to 2012, Naga City gained 34ha of tree cover region-wide equal to 0.85% of all tree cover gain in Camarines Sur.

However, due to its small steps, From 2001 to 2012, Camarines Sur gained 4.04kha of tree cover region-wide equal to 1.5% of all tree cover gain in the Philippines.

As mentioned, Camarines Sur is rich in biodiversity and natural resources - both water and land resources. It is essential to address these issues to provide a sustainable community to the residents of the province and give them a quality of life. Forests and wildlife are vital components of society and the environment. Restoring and conserving the mountain ecosystem and forests also benefits the people, giving them the resources needed, shelter, protection, and other things.

The software technique is fully automated and offers the benefit of being extremely less expensive, yet can work faster to combat the impacts of deforestation. It is estimated the machine can plant ten seeds per UAV per minute. With this, a billion trees can be planted annually.

Positive impacts:
(1) Economical, works quickly & efficiently, automated
(2) Its mapping technology can be useful to enhance the uptake rates and likelihood of the healthy development of the forest.
(3) The drone fires pods into the ground, which enables the planting of a large number of trees in less time.

Negative Impacts:
(1) It might reduce the traditional way of planting.
(2) There might be technical difficulties with the systems and the risk of malfunctioning.

This is beneficial to the deforestation issue in Camarines Sur since a large number of trees were lost. An unmanned device can work quickly as compared to humans. However, traditional planting methods must not be forgotten.
