         <title>THE WAR  OF 1812</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><span>The British were using impressment, and drafting Americans captured at sea into the British navy, and also supplying native Americans with weapons. This angered the Americans and a group of young congressmen demanded war. There was a lack of popular support, so they were easily defeated. In 1814 the Americans were forced to flee Washington D.C. and the British burned the capitol. On January 8, 1815, the Americans defeated the British at the battle of New Orleans, even though a peace treaty had been signed on December 24, 1814. </span></p>Danzer, Gerald A. Calhoun: They were at the time new members, they wanted war after seeing the conflict between Britain. </p><p>Native American: They were fighting for not U.S to expand their territory. </p><p>Britain: They gave the Native American weapons so they could fight against U.S. </p><p>William Henry: In Indiana's territory, he led the U.S troops to a win on the battle of Tippecanoe. </p><p>http://www.history.com/topics/war-of-1812</p>]]></description>
