In the book World War Z by Max Brooks, It tells the "oral history of the Zombie war" The author, Max Brooks, has many other books about the living dead. The first book he wrote was the zombie survival guide. This book was supposed to be titled: "Zombie War" but it was changed to "World War Z" because the term Zombie can be a turnoff to some readers.

The book tells many short stories about the zombie war and how the disease affects people everywhere. It starts like any other new disease would, a mystery, no one understands what the disease is but it is slowly spreading weather people know what it is or how to stop it.

Because of organ transplants on the black market the disease can be transferred all over the world which then starts "The Zombie War"

It seems like everyone is obsessed with zombies, but why?
Back when the usa started experimenting with nuclear warfare humans have studies the idea of radiation effects which has slowly developed into the idea of the "zombie"

In the video game call of duty they have a zombie game mode that is you fighting off hoards of radioactive zombies sourced at WWII.

In recent times shows like the walking dead have popularized the idea of the living dead. Max brooks, the author of World War Z, says in multiple instances that the term "Zombie" is so popular that it becomes over used and it acts as a turn off to people which is why he uses different terms like "walkers" to describe them.

PTSD Stands for post traumatic stress disorder. This disorder is classified as a condition where people are affected by a traumatic time like war, or a car accident or loss of a loved one.

PTSD can cause flashbacks and hallucinations along with many other symptoms like anxiety and stress. Many war veterans lives are forever changed due to the effects of Post traumatic stress disorder from the violence of war.

If a patient is diagnosed with PTSD it can require counseling and or medication which right now are the only true forms of treatment so for now that's all we can do to stop it, because It happens from disasters we can not prevent it, only help once it starts.

In the book, they tell the character it was a hallucination from PTSD along with the zombie war he's experienced. and they tell him he wasn't actually bitten by the walker that he says he was. the character then convinces himself that they are right. but they aren't.
