It depends on the needs and the situation. If all your basic needs are fulfill then intrinsic motivation is more important. But if you need money to feed your kids then you don't really care about why you do the work and the responsibilities you have, you care more about the pay at the end.

So in our opinion, Maslow's theory is more accurate because it explains both needs and types of motivation.

Also, extrinsic motivation has limits. If you are not happy with your job even if it pays well, there are more chances that you quit it.

Extrinsic. We believe that in the absence of intrinsic motivation, it's still highly possible for things to be done via extrinsic motivation alone. However, there is likely a lack of enough altruistic people to do things for the love of it in order to move the world forward.

- Depending on the situation, intrinsic vs extrinsic would be better. e.g. extrinsic motivation in terms of quantity, intrinsic in terms of quality.
- Maybe can start by focusing on intrinsic first then move to extrinsic as your needs are met
- need both lel can't just have 1
