Also the word ulluaqpalituuq it's the word for chubby baby. They have all meaning in the bones but these 2 word I’ve learn today

I would love to share these words I’ve learned today to toddlers and infants at the daycare and tell them that our elders use to play with them, cause they didn’t have toys back then. They would play with bone games after playing out all day when the daylight is out.

Oloosie

Today I’ve learned the youngest baby of Inugait bone game use to be called Uluaqpalituu (chubby cheeks) I found it very cute.

The Inugait bone game was one of the best games I’ve learned as a child, it amazed me when I come to think of it that Inuit thought of creating this game out of seal bones for children. I would love to share this with toddlers at daycare as to it was one of the bone games that was played in the days.

Dorothy

Today I learned, about the inugaq is uluaqpalutuu, is the youngest baby, (cubby cheeks) in inugaq.

And i learned more about the names in inugaq, the grandmother, son, daughter, mother, and the father. Qammutik, dog, pillow, chairs for grandma, grandpa.

I would share the bone games called inugaq, at the daycare for the toddlers and kids, and explain to them back in the day they didn’t had toys, they would play this game, and other bone game. Or bring an elder to daycare for the bone games. It is important for the kids to share the bone game, to keep our culture. As our elders grow up playing the bone games.

Karol

Today I learned the game called Nullutak and Nullutautiit is the object of the game, the meaning is trying to aim to the whole on the bone with a stick, when I heard about it I was curious to play it but we didn’t have time to play but the instructions were very clear.

I would share this game after snack time or others can do this in circle time, first I would put up the game and first show them a video go other people playing and ask questions about it if they get the idea from the video, Then I would do this first and if they understand I would ask a few of the children to join me for the game. This game is important because it is a good practice for hand-eye coordination (cognitive and physical skills) they will learn the difference of cognitive and physical abilities.
