I believe that Of Mice And Men by John Steinbeck was a very good book. I would recommend the book to anyone who hasn't read it and anyone who would enjoy a very well written book with great characters and a great story line. I love how the author used foreshadowing to foreshadow a very significant event in the story. I also enjoyed the shocking but expected climax of the story.

In my opinion the book Of Mice and Men was very well written and did expand my vocabulary. The book did help me understand more about peoples life struggles during the 1930's. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys non fiction or historical books. Unfortunately this book is shorter then other books i would read, but i did enjoy it.

George is a somewhat small and quick character in the book who is one of the main characters in Of Mice and Men. George is sot of Lennie's big brother he always takes care of him and protects him no matter how troubling it is for him. George is somewhat of an angry man but is also caring for how he takes care of Lennie. George is a hard worker and will do anything for Lennie. He plays a big role in this book always having to look after Lennie and fix all of his mistakes while trying to achieve their dream of owning a piece of land.

Slim is the all seeing character in the book Of Mice and Men. He's known as the Prince of The Ranch because everyone respects him and his word goes. Whether you tell him or not, Slim can read you like a book. He may not know specifics but he will understand the overall concept of your story. He's the Morgan Freeman in Of Mice and Men.

Candy is an old swamper in the book Of Mice and Men. Candy had lost one hand and had gotten a pretty big paycheck from it. He would later attempt to join Lennie and George's american dream of owning a little piece of land and a home. Candy would become friends with George and Lennie in the book and says he will leave all his money to them when he passes away. Instead as we find later in the book this dream doesn't work out.

Lennie is the second main character in the book Of Mice and Men and just so happens to be somewhat of George's best friend. Lennie is know as the "child like" character in the book based on his actions and the way he thinks. Lennie is a large man and is described similar to a bear. He is a very hard worker, and always listens to George and would do absolutely anything for him. Lennie is a very kind person but doesn't seem to know his own strength, which causes him to get into a lot of trouble leaving it to George to get him out of it.

The book "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck is quite an adventurous tale. You meet George and Lennie and are automatically attached to them. If you aren't, you're some kind of non-human or just a pure evil human being. All of the characters are so individual and it honestly is very hard to put a good background into each of your characters. Characters like Slim, Candy, and even Crooks just come out of nowhere and are so fitting into the story. All in all, the book is quite the tale to read whether you're craving deep story, good character development, or just something to tickle your feelings.

One theme illustrated in the book Of Mice and Men, was the american dream. The american dream is a dream anyone could have, to have a better life then they already have. No matter where you come from or where you are going, your life can always get better as long as you believe in your dream like Lennie and try as hard as you can to achieve that dream just as George and Lennie do.

In the book Of Mice and Men the author demonstrates through the characters George and Lennie the importance of friendship. George and Lennie are different from all the other migrant workers because they have each other and most migrant workers don't have friends to travel with. George and Lennie avoid spending all their money because they don't need anything else in the world but each other to make them happy. They have each other and the dream of owning a farm together, where Lennie can tend to the rabbits and they can sell their cows milk and chickens eggs for money. The author shows that without friends happiness doesn't seem very possible, because happiness isn't real unless you have someone to share it with.
