The removal of the Philippin Philippine subject can have many factors that contribute to the low level of understanding among high school students. Firstly, without studying Philippine history in junior high, students may not be able to have a solid understanding of the country's historical events, figures, and cultural heritage, making it challenging for them to grasp more complex historical concepts in high school. Secondly, studying Philippine history helps students develop a sense of national identity and pride. By removing this subject, students may miss out on opportunities to learn about the struggles, achievements, and values that shape the Filipino identity. Additionally, Philippine history provides a context for understanding current social, political, and economic issues in the country. Without this background knowledge, students may find it harder to make connections between historical events and their impact on contemporary society. Moreover, studying history encourages critical thinking, analysis, and interpretation of events. Removing the subject may lead to a decline in these skills, as students may not have as many opportunities to engage with primary and secondary sources, evaluate different perspectives, and develop their own arguments. Lastly, for students interested in pursuing careers in fields such as education, law, politics, or cultural heritage, a lack of knowledge in Philippine history can be a disadvantage.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7FMiG6d26y0

https://www.google.nl/amp/s/www.philstar.com/headlines/2024/01/17/2326465/why-loss-history-subject-high-school-causes-ripple-effect-college/amp/

In 2014, the Department of Education (DepEd) made the decision to eliminate Philippine History as a standalone subject in secondary education curricula.
