Hi my name is Giovanni, Today im going to talk about my life when I was a kid and the reason why me and my family migrate to USA.

Where and what is Etiopía?
Etiopía is a landlocked country in the Horn of Africa. i lived at etiopìa from 12 years, spending time at my school and whit my friends. my parents work at the field. At Etiopía not everything was good, the social status was not very good and our salary was very bad because of our work and conditions. Also the education that I had was not very good because at the school there was only 3 teachers.

Etiopia had some things that when I migrate to USA I started to miss like my friends or all the good times that I pass there, sometimes when I wake up I remember some sounds like the animals that are near the house but know I only hear cars.

Why do my family migrate?
When I was at the age of 10 my family started to have some economic problems and I needed to left my school so I loose some two years of clases. After I got 11 the things didn´t go better our field dried up and we can´t farm so me can´t get money. Then I got 12 and my family decided to migrate illegally we moved a lot of kilometers at foot and the we get into the beach we decided to cross the ocean in a boat whit other people.

Now I am at USA and I finish the school and graduate at a good university my parents got a good work and I build my own company.

By: André Li and Pablo Lock

Excellent blog Andre and Pablo. Just be careful with some grammar structures.

My grandfather told me that they migrated to Mexico because this gave us access to the division of labor, the demand for housing and public services, which generated greater investment and increased our labor demand. Another very important reason why we migrate is for our economic sustainability, also to escape poverty, seeking access to work, a better standard of living, better working conditions and remuneration, or in more critical cases, for survival reasons.

He also explained to me how this can affect other families in Mexico and that migration can increase labor competition, new pockets of poverty can arise, generate an increase in discrimination, xenophobia, etc. In addition, it may happen that the less qualified workers are harmed by the loss of jobs, which will go to migrants, or by the decrease in their wages.

He also explained to me that there were negative effects, it was the problem of integrating and adapting our family to the new society, getting used to new jobs and competing for work to achieve our objectives and goals.

But it also had positive aspects in the family, such as generating new academic opportunities for us. It fostered our cultural exchange with the rest of the people. The productivity of our house improved due to the presence of more work in the family. And finally it fostered the rise of new types of work.

Emphasizing the point of view in conclusion, the positive things such as new job and academic opportunities are more than the negative aspects and that is why I like that our family has migrated to Mexico City since it is better than the rural areas.

by: Aless y Rodri

7 July 2022

In this blog, I am going to present my experience on how I went from a rural area to the city

Hi, my name is James, I’m 14 years old, and I lived in the countryside until I was 7 years old. Then my family made the decision to move to the city, because there were better opportunities there for me and my cousins. There were schools, supermarkets, and more, I lived from the crops and my parents taught me values, they educated me.

One day, my grandfather explains to me how this move affected the family. It was hard for me to get used to at the beginning, things were very different, we no longer consumed what we grew, but we had to buy our food in supermarkets using money, this was not used in the countryside.

Now I'm going to explain disadvantages and advantages to move to an urban area

Beginning with the advantages, in rural we had almost no communication because there were no digital lines, we did not have medical services like in the city, if something happened to us, we had to see how to solve it. In the other hand, in the city have more rates of insecurity and accidents also the contagious diseases can spread more easily.

Ricardo Sousa and Valentino Andrade
