The extra time for 13/14 periods provides more locker/dismissal procedure time for 5th grade going to and leaving from specials or even their last class of the day.

Rather than changing the entire schedule, maybe there is a need for a "Defined Late to Class" timeframe. Example period 2/3 ends at 9:55. Period 4 could "start" at 9:57 and any student that comes into class after 9:58, they are considered late. That 3 minute difference can be the "transition time". This way, all prep periods and lunches stay the exact same amount of time.

What clocks will be used to dismiss students from the cafeteria? The clocks on the walls are about 2 minutes than the clocks on our laptops. Teachers and SSOs on lunch duty need to be using the same clocks.
