This quote, in the context of 'objectifying happiness,' argues that what may appear to be random or rebellious behaviors can carry planned acts of delight and artistic expressions within the urban landscape. Graffiti art emerges as a captivating form of self-expression, skillfully crafted through writing, painting, or drawing on walls and various surfaces.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Tracing its origins to the ancient Roman times and resurfacing in New York City's subway stations during the 1960s, graffiti art now contends for artistic acceptance and legalization in the present day. This art form, often steeped in controversy, serves as a potent medium for individuals to voice their messages, share insights, and unfold their artistic visions. Graffiti is a word weighed down by negative connotations, primarily due to its inherently illicit nature. There are overhang issues concerning serviced apartments.</p><p><br></p><p>According to the research report by NAPIC, MIDF, the overhang in serviced apartments spiked to peak of 24,267 units in third-quarter of 2020 from 16,942 units in the first-quarter of 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic. </p><p><br></p><p>The majority of the serviced apartment overhang in Malaysia were situated in Johor, followed by Kuala Lumpur.          <description><![CDATA[<p>In Malaysia, becoming a professional architect involves three stages of study, making it a longer process compared to many other professions. While this journey can lead to higher pay, it typically takes longer to achieve than in other fields. For example, individuals in other professions often reach comparable pay levels within 4-5 years after graduating from their degree programs. </p><p><br/></p><p>Institutions perform only a part in making an architect; the rest is completed in practice or research. The institutions must admit to their limited role, define it and perform well. Architecture students in Malaysia typically experience significant learning during their internships or the initial 2-3 years in the industry compared to their academic studies.</p><p><br/></p><p>Salaries for architects are crushingly low. Fresh graduates’ pay is as low as RM1,800 per month. If educating an architect costs about RM50,000 - RM90,000, just fees and excluding other expenses, a low entry-level salary makes architecture less attractive.</p>]]></description>

It is like a big greenhouse on top of a building. It is designed with glass walls and inside, a big lab where scientists figure out how to grow food better. Agrotopia is a great example of how we can make food in cities without hurting the planet.</div><div><br></div><div>These smart farms aren't just about growing food. They're also about teaching people how to take care of the Earth.          <description><![CDATA[<p>The human urge to forge a meaningful connection with nature is one that has endured millennia. Throughout history, our ancestors sought to intertwine the built and organic spheres — the natural world was at the heart of the ancient Roman villa and the Arabic courtyard house. But as the climate crisis looms ever more potently over the construction industry, biophilic design is experiencing something of a Renaissance.</p><p><br/></p><p>Today strikes greater calamity to nature as well as our gap to nature from the day before. Our beautiful greens turns concrete jungle. Malaysia has the highest rate of deforestation, and our capital as one of the most polluted in Asia.  But the dilemma of an inevitable cities to be built to cater for the rising population and demand. There is an understanding that one cannot create without the sacrifice of a particular. In the context of construction, a land to be taken for the construction of a building. However this will not solve a long term issue. The approach of fusion, connection, and co-existing are deemed necessary.   </p><p><br/></p><p>Fusing organic elements and processes into architectural practice can result in soothing spaces that elevate physical and mental well-being, but it can also support the delivery of climate-resilient buildings. Biophilic design is a toolkit that can help reduce carbon emissions, as well as proposing natural solutions for improving air quality, regulating ventilation, temperature and noise and managing stormwater.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Rooftops have traditionally been the domain of mechanical equipment, line-drying laundry and the occasional playground for kids. Panoramic views and good weather make the perfect setting for sunset drinks, but expansive areas of residential building rooftops remain underused around the world. These spaces are waiting to be transformed into pleasant outdoor environments and not necessarily for lucrative purposes. The benefits of transforming rooftops extend not only to residents but to entire cities at large.</p><p>In densely populated areas where scant land is available, underused roofs offer the opportunity to expand green urban areas, promoting urban biodiversity, improving the well-being of city dwellers and reducing negative environmental impact. With green roof technology, rooftops no longer accumulate heat during the day, creating the so-dreaded heat island effect. Instead, they retain rainwater and capture CO2 and pollutants. Turning rooftops into pleasant outdoor spaces accessible to building residents is an effective use of otherwise wasted built space and offers the opportunity to replace lost habitats</p><p>We are the ideal team to create cohesive, functional and sustainable buildings that improve city dwellers’ quality of life. Architectural examples worldwide demonstrate that the effort to counter the overpopulation of urban areas and the scant green spaces is global. This concept involve a paradigm shift from traditional linear building models to a regenerative and sustainable approach.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Circular economy principles can be integrated at various stages of the building process, ranging from material selection and construction to eventual demolition and reuse.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Buildings that can be easily disassembled allow for the reuse of materials in future projects. This approach involves embracing modular construction techniques and adopting a ‘kit of parts’ mindset, facilitating efficient dismantling and salvaging of materials.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The choice of materials is critical in circular economy architecture. Materials that are durable, easily recyclable and with sustainable sources are opted. Timber and steel are some of the examples of materials that not only reduce environmental impact but also promotes the circularity of resources.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>It is undeniable that currently, the availability of recycled materials in the construction industry can be limited, making it challenging to source materials that meet circular economy principles.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Adaptive reuse takes many forms, from preserving heritage to transforming vacant buildings into opportunities to revitalize communities. Prolonging the lifespan of buildings is a sustainable strategy with social and financial advantages.</p><p><br/></p><p>By transforming these often neglected, aging buildings into modern, functional spaces, architects and developers are contributing to urban renewal and sustainability, all while preserving the cultural and architectural heritage that these structures represent. </p><p><br/></p><p>There are many reasons for the adaptation such as Historic Preservation, Renovation, Integration, Facadism and more. One striking example of integration is Denmark’s <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" class="hooked" href="https://www.dortemandrup.dk/work/jaegersborg-water-tower-denmark"><strong>Jægersborg Water Tower</strong></a>, which was converted by Dorte Mandrup into student housing.</p><p><br/></p><p>But not every building is suited for adaptive reuse. This method is chosen among contractors in Malaysia because the waste materials is assumed to have little premium value. There are less awareness on the importances and benefit of reusing reclaimed building materials. Limited attention has been given on the adoption of recycling and reuse as part of strategies to minimize construction waste dumped onto the landfill.</p><p><br></p><p>Recycled materials can be applied in various ways. In this study, various products can be recycled for use construction purposes such in highway pavement, aggregates, thermal insulation, additives in building materials, and also used as main structure element. The use of sustainable materials in buildings has become an important factor in producing sustainable buildings. The building materials will be added or replaced with some waste materials and recycled materials to make the building materials more environmentally friendly.</p><p><br></p><p>Recycled materials encourage innovation in architectural design by questioning convention and embracing imperfections to achieve unique expressions. Through innovation, spaces are designed to inspire future architecture and promote sustainable development. Not well-adapted to environment, climate, or local reality.</p><p><br/></p><p>Increasing frequency and severity of extreme weather events such as hazard and floods. Complex problems such as&nbsp;water scarcity, natural disasters, air pollution, and even the spread of disease to impact the design.</p><p><br/></p><p>Urban areas experience higher temperatures due to the urban heat island effect and caused by the absorption and retention of heat by buildings and pavement.</p><p><br/></p><p>The built environment accounts for around 42% of global CO2 emissions annually. For instance, inaccessible public transportation systems and poorly designed public spaces hinder mobility and participation in community life for many individuals. Such exclusionary design not only limits the community to socialize but also decreases the overall quality of life in the cities. It perpetuates social inequalities and undermines the principles of equity and inclusivity that are vital for sustainable urban development.</p><p><br/></p><p>To tackle this challenge, architects and urban planners must prioritize inclusive design principles. Maintaining anonymity in public spaces can be vital for some individuals, for their own safety, if they are well-known or public figures, or for people who work in particular industries.&nbsp;- planning of urban layouts and spatial organization has also become integral to counter-surveillance architecture.&nbsp;</p><p>The strategic planning of urban layouts and spatial organization has also become integral to counter-surveillance architecture. There are numerous exquisite mega-cities in sci-fi literature, but from my own perspective I believe they need a visual medium to truly do them justice.</p><p><br/></p><p>Here, we present a real good example for a&nbsp;city in the sky of the future by Tsvetan Toshkov, a visionary architect who demonstrates the sky is not the limit for his imagination as he goes beyond it, exploring new ideas and features. Recently, Tsvetan unveiled a challenging concept for a futuristic city that looks promising for sustainable tomorrow. The lotus- inspired city, far above any familiar sky-scrapers is still under development, presents an imagery long-beloved sustainable vision with steep perspectives of a friction-less, super-shiny and super-clean city.</p><p><br/></p><p>In the city&nbsp;in the sky; live, work, shopping, entertainment and educational spaces are all built into the layers of this futuristic urban design. The cultural life of this self-contained city is focused internally yet the structural forms of the rising Lotus flowers&nbsp;stalks, which ring them speak to and have views out to the surrounding area. While on the top, the&nbsp;Lotus leaves fuze and expand over the everyday buzz, smog and city dirt turning this new urban design into tranquil oasis above the polluted urban life.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Big changes are coming to construction!  3D printing, once something you'd only see in movies, is starting to be used to design and build real buildings. This is exciting news for Malaysia, which has a cool mix of old and new architecture and a booming construction industry. But even though 3D printing has a lot of potential, there are some hurdles to jump over before it becomes widely used.</p><p><br></p><p>What's the big deal about 3D printing in construction?  This technology lets architects design buildings with unusual shapes and features that wouldn't be possible otherwise. It can also help reduce waste from construction and build things faster because some parts can be made right on-site. While Malaysia has a few 3D-printed buildings and research projects, it's still not being used very often. So far, most research has focused on small models or using 3D printing for decoration. There also aren't many special materials or trained workers available yet. Plus, there aren't any clear rules yet for buildings made with 3D printing, which makes things uncertain for architects and construction companies.</p><p><br></p><p>Even though 3D printing sounds great, it's not always the cheapest option.  More research is needed to figure out if it's actually more affordable than traditional building methods for different types of buildings in Malaysia.</p><p><br></p><p>Overall, 3D printing has the potential to completely change how things are built in Malaysia.  By doing more research, especially on how much it costs, we can unlock the full potential of this technology. By focusing on specific types of buildings and carefully considering the pros and cons, research can help us use 3D printing responsibly, leading to a more innovative and eco-friendly future for Malaysian architecture.</p>]]></description>

Natural hazards, such as heatwaves, extreme weather, and food system disruption, influence human health as well as transportation, infrastructure, and global trade. The CO2 emissions of Southeast Asian countries increased from 711 MT in 2000 to 1288 MT in 2015; they constitute the world’s most developing regions in terms of electricity consumption. Urbanization is generally a crucial factor affecting total energy consumption because the residential sector is considered as the second highest consumer of electricity after the industrial sector. Studies have showed that a strong relation exists between gross domestic product growth and electricity demand; therefore, serious actions are required for environmental protection and energy conservation as they are important topics for ensuring sustainability. </p></li></ul><p><br/></p><p>Motivational problem statement</p><ul><li><p>The research field of climate change mitigation has evolved over the last few decades owing to public concern, the development of innovative technology, and improved computational and analytical power for sustainability and future generation. Among various energy-saving and environmental-friendly technologies, the ground source heat pump (GSHP) has been widely applied for space cooling and heating in several countries because it can reduce electricity consumption. This air-conditioning system transfers heat to/from underground by circulating water to control the room temperature in buildings. The GSHP mainly uses the subsurface as a heat sink or a heat source with its operating system comprising a heat pump, a ground-coupled heat ex-changer, and a conditioned air distribution system. </p></li></ul><p><br/></p><p>GAP</p><ul><li><p>Despite its numerous benefits, the extensive application of the GSHP is still limited to tropical regions. First, there are technical problems with GSHP applications in the Southeast Asian region. The GSHP system is mainly used for space cooling in tropical climates, leading to a thermal imbalance between heat rejection and extraction; this phenomenon may also decrease the efficiency of the system. Temperature differences between the underground areas and the atmosphere are mostly quite small for GSHP application; thus, data on GSHP performance in tropical climate conditions are limited. Second, financial and market problems are considered; the initial cost of a GSHP is higher than that of a conventional AC resulting in the absence of a GSHP market in Southeast Asia. Finally, government regulations on renewable energy usage remain limited. However, a subsurface cooling system can still be applied under tropical climates if supplementary measurements are applied to prevent an increase in the ground temperature.</p></li></ul><p><br/></p><p>P.O.D</p><ul><li><p>This study aims the GSHP systems applications in Malaysia; several applications of GSHP in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam have been addressed. Experiments were initiated in 2006 in Kamphaengphet (Thailand); the latest experiment found in the Scopus searching tool is the GSHP simulation in Kuantan in 2019 using EnergyPlus using the ground loop design software. GSHP systems have the potential to be used in Malaysia despite the dominance of cooling demand, leading to a thermal imbalance within the subsurface. This imbalance can reduce the performance of the system; however, groundwater flow is considered as a key factor in preventing the effect of thermal distribution owing to GSHP operation. These results suggest that the GSHP has the potential to reduce emissions and electricity consumption within areas having tropical climates, such as Southeast Asia, for sustainability and future generation.</p></li></ul><p><br/></p>]]></description>
