He was shot by Gerald Stanley but in his defense he claimed it was a "Freak Accident". Gerald said that he thought his gun in his right hand was empty. Gerald also said he felt a bit of pushing against his arm and then the trigger  was pressed. Most people that hear about this case think that Colten Boushie was killed because of his race. Even his parents were being asked questions as if they did something wrong right after the police told them about his murder. They asked if she was drunk because of how she was in denial and she thought she was being discriminated against. She said she felt hurt and confused at her most desperate hour. Some people assume that according to your race you do worse things. For example I believe that Gerald Stanley Thought that Colten Boushie did bad things because he is an indigenous male. I believe that this is also the reason he had pulled out his gun in the first place to give warning shots. Incidentally the bullet ended up hitting Colten Boushie in the head. the stereotype of an Indigenous male/female was enough to make Gerald Stanley shoot Colten Boushie
