I chose this picture of a pollinator garden for Unit 1. I stumbled across this picture while browsing reddit, studying gardening. 

This person made their backyard into a haven for bees and other pollinators. Although it usually isn't the HOA standard, these types of gardens are very important for the environment as many bees are dwindling in number.

These types of gardens helps the bees by giving them access to different types of pollen so they can continue to work and reproduce.

It includes a lot of information and visuals to further one's information of the process. The video is also short, so it retains the attention of the audience without being too long and wordy. Overall, this is a great video to watch and learn about photosynthesis.

Companies and other people are tearing down tress in this area which can have a major effect on the world. Half of the oxygen in the world is produced by tropical rainforests. Without oxygen, the human race will not be able to survive. Another factor of why this is dangerous is because the tropical rainforests have the largest biodiversity of any other biome and these organisms are in danger as well.

Population growth during the Neolithic Revolution resulted in agricultural productivity. This, in turn, resulted in more population growth. With the surplus of food, civilizations could continue to grow and develop as well as continue to become more and more advanced.

Tractors were an invention in the third agricultural revolution which changed agriculture forever. Tractors can be used to carry heavy loads of harvest, as well as turn soil. This machine changed the way people grew crops so drastically, that the use of horses and other animals for agriculture was cut to a very small percentage. I chose the tractor because it is the staple of mechanical agriculture equipment. Everyone who owns a farm has at least one tractor, if not many more.

The most influential chemical in the world that is derived from a plant, in my opinion, is nicotine. Nicotine is one of the most used and highest rated addictive substances in the world. It is used at an absurdly high amount even though the risks of nicotine have been made clear across the globe. There have been many different movements in my lifetime to stop the use of nicotine products (thetruth.com and D.A.R.E. programs are a few examples.)

I chose this apocalyptic landscape scene because if the environmental issues we are facing now are not corrected, major issues will occur. The ozone layer will be damaged too far to be repaired, and climate change could cause entire countries to collapse. With poor infrastructure in many countries around the world, as well as limited resources, people would be forced to fight, or even kill for resources to survive. Wars could break out and there would be limited survivors left in the world.
