This line, said by Sarah Koenig, was explaining that despite of Jay's criminal records, Adnan knew Jay's weak spots, knowing if Jay didn't do one thing; Adnan would target that spot and convince him to help dig a hole for the body. And in the end, it all worked out.

From what Jay said later on the years, he had no choice to help or else he knew or would think the police would harass him in front of his grandmothers house because Adnan would have really blackmailed Jay from the marijuana he had bought to give to the police. Adnan knew what would've happened to Jay if he did turn Jay in because the jail time for drug trafficking was very serious and it would have effected Jay greatly. This piece of evidence showed that Adnan Syed is guilty and that he convinced Jay to help him with the murder.
