It enables students’ observation, discovery and self-motivation through the exhibits’ approach allowing multiple interpretations to the active visitor and contributing to the development of critical thinking.

I think that museum means to me learning new information on a colourful athmosphere.

Musems are great institutions. i think they are the best indicators of the cultural heritage of one nation. in Primary school Zlatar Bistrica, pupils visit museums at least twice in a scholl year. Also, we have a national manifestationa called "Night of Museums" that takes place last friday in January and the museums are oppened from 18,00 till 1,00 a.m. with free entry. Thousands of visitors came and have th oppeortunity to see different kinds of musem collections that day. Also, us teachers visit museums and galleries often as a group and have a good time- sort of team building:))

For me museums are synonym for culture, learning, creativity, workshops, history, heritage etc.

A museum is a real or virtual place where we can revisit and relive our past and by that I include artifacts, history, clothing, science, art...it's a time travel!

Due to the advance and extensive use of technology, we can now access a museum without ever leaving home; we can even build our own museum collection by virtually gathering our favourite / educational pieces.

Furthermore, there are now museums (the physical buildings) that make art accessible to visually impared people - or people with other disabilities - so that all can experience art, touch it, feel it which is particularly relevant for us educators. The UNSEEN ART project at http://www.unseenart.org/ uses 3D printing to create equal access for art globally.

Guggenheim Museums also have detailed descriptions as well as tactile visits and so does MoMA. Art Beyond Sight ( http://www.artbeyondsight.org/ ) goals are also to bring art and culture to all.

Museums are full of resources and are great teaching / learning places - again, real or virtual - in what concerns our past (for what is left from previous generations and civilizations), but also our future (as a way to instill in our children and pupils the need to preserve what we can so that the next generations can also appreciate our cultural heritage like we do).

What is a museum...? The first thing that comes to mind is the building, with some kind of greatness in its appearance, no matter what style. Inside, you can find any sort of piece of art: paintings, texts, sculptures, archaelogical treasures, maps, clothes... arranged according to a/different topics.

I think traditionally there was something like an invisible barrier, between the academic world (archaeologists, palaeontologists, biologists, historians...), who owned the knowledge, and the general public, who walked the galleries and corridors feeling impressed and perhaps trying to learn (and remember!) something from the exhibition. Somehow, both parts weren't connected.

Nowadays, thankfully, we can see there are many new elements that help us enjoy museums in a better way: audio guides and braille boards for people with these needs, interactive boards and activities, and even dramatized visits (guides dressed accordingly to the times and events they're about to explain, performing one important character) and organised workshops according to the age and characteristics of the public. Now museums are a real leisure option for everyone!

In simple words it is a building near a place, which history is shown. That usually happens by objects, photos, slides or movies on video wall.
Of course maybe the museum is far away from objects ' home. (Then we must wonder why).
But for me also museum can be a whole location full of objects. For example i couldn't believe that i was in a city when i first visited Rome . I felt all the time that i was walking in a big museum and i wanted to wonder and see all of it.
It was a strange feeling in fact i had never felt before

Museums for me are places where I can "touch" the past and see how progress took place. They give a chance of a more "hands on" learning which I guess is more fruitful.
There are 16 museum in my native city of Chernivtsi as far as I know and my all time favourite is the open-air museum of folk architecture where you can immerse yourself into a village of houses and mills collected from all over our region and actually go inside and see the reconstructions and experience what life looked like in the 19th-early 20th century. I understand the concept of the museum as a space, which is dedicated to the historical memory and tells us about the legacy of the past and the historical events. This kind of events can be exposed through proper interior design, theater set design, technology and new media exhibition. When I was a child a museum for me was a kind of mysterious big building where my granny took me to and showed me different historic pieces and talked about our culture and heritage. Today, museums have changed a loan t and are for me active learning spaces where you can learn about different aspects of culture and history. You can cherish in a museum your favourite pieces of art, sometimes I just go there to relieve stress. Children can have a first-hand experience by exploring artefacts in active way.
