         <title>Any well-designed assessment, will aide the learner in more clearly understanding where on his/her path toward proficiency he/she stands.  At the same time, learners will broaden and deepen their perceptions of our world because the &quot;performance&quot; part of the assessment will be linked to encountering different perspectives and beliefs of members of the target language cultures that in turn will prompt the learners to examen their own .</title>
