1.An access point is a device that creates a wireless local area network, or WLAN, usually in an office or large building. An access point connects to a wired router, switch, or hub via an Ethernet cable, and projects a Wi-Fi signal to a designated area.

2.A router is a networking device that forwards data packets between computer networks. Routers perform the traffic directing functions on the Internet. Data sent through the internet, such as a web page or email, is in the form of data packets.

3.A network interface controller is a computer hardware component that connects a computer to a computer network. Early network interface controllers were commonly implemented on expansion cards that plugged into a computer bus.

4.A network switch is networking hardware that connects devices on a computer network by using packet switching to receive and forward data to the destination device. A network switch is a multiport network bridge that uses MAC addresses to forward data at the data link layer of the OSI model.

5.Transmission media is a communication channel that carries the information from the sender to the receiver. Data is transmitted through the electromagnetic signals. The main functionality of the transmission media is to carry the information in the form of bits through LAN(Local Area Network).

6.There are two types of transmission media, namely guided and unguided. Guided transmission media are cables like twisted pair cables, coaxial cables, and fiber optic cables. Unguided transmission media are wireless, such as infrared, radio waves, and microwaves.

7.Wired transmission media is also called as physical media or guided media.  In wired transmission media, one network is connected to another network using a set of wires.  Wired transmission media provide physically constrained signal propagation.

8.Wireless communication is the transfer of information between two or more points that do not use an electrical conductor as a medium by which to perform the transfer. The most common wireless technologies use radio waves.

9.A network consists of two or more computers that are linked in order to share resources (such as printers and CDs), exchange files, or allow electronic communications. The computers on a network may be linked through cables, telephone lines, radio waves, satellites, or infrared light beams. ... Local Area Network (LAN)

10.Media are the communication outlets or tools used to store and deliver information or data. The term refers to components of the mass media communications industry, such as print media, publishing, the news media, photography, cinema, broadcasting, digital media, and advertising

1) Wireless access points (APs or WAPs) are networking devices that allow Wi-Fi devices to connect to a wired network. The purpose of the network card is to prepare, send, and control data on the network. In this article we will introduce this component.

4)
A hub is a physical layer networking device which is used to connect multiple devices in a network.
