Introduction

The Quran is described as Ashifaa (a healing) in multiple verses, highlighting its role in spiritual, psychological, and even physical well-being. It serves as a guidance for believers, bringing peace and comfort to the heart.

Quran as a Source of Healing

Allah mentions in the Quran: "And We send down of the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe..." (Surah Al-Isra, 17:82)

This verse emphasizes that the Quran is not just a book of laws but a source of healing. It can heal:

Spiritual illnesses (doubts, misguidance)

Psychological distress (anxiety, sadness)

Physical ailments (reciting Ruqyah for protection)

Personal Reflection

I believe that the Quran provides peace to my heart, especially during difficult times. Reciting Surah Al-Fatihah and Ayat Kursi has personally helped me feel a sense of protection and relief. One of my experiences was when I felt anxious before an exam, and reciting Surah Ad-Duha brought me comfort and confidence.

Usrah Participation

In our Usrah session, we discussed how different verses of the Quran serve as Ashifaa. Some members shared their experiences of how listening to the Quran helped them during tough times. I contributed by sharing my understanding of Surah Ash-Sharh, which emphasizes that ease comes after hardship.

Collaboration

As part of my collaboration, I contributed to a discussion on the significance of Quranic recitation in our daily lives. I also worked with my group to create a short video explaining the importance of Ashifaa in Surah Al-Fatihah.

Improvements & Future Goals

One improvement I aim for is to memorize more verses related to healing, such as Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas. I also plan to implement more Quranic recitations in my daily routine to strengthen my faith and reliance on Allah.

Introduction

The belief in the hereafter (Akhirah) is a fundamental principle in Islam. It is the conviction that life does not end with death, but rather continues in another realm where individuals will be judged based on their deeds. This belief influences a Muslim's actions, decisions, and moral conduct, encouraging them to strive for righteousness.

Understanding the Concept

Belief in the hereafter includes:

Resurrection and Judgment Day: Every soul will be resurrected and held accountable for their deeds.

Paradise (Jannah) and Hell (Jahannam): The righteous will be rewarded with eternal bliss, while wrongdoers will face punishment.

Impact on Daily Life: A firm belief in the hereafter fosters honesty, kindness, and responsibility, as one is aware that all actions are recorded.

Personal Reflection

Understanding the hereafter has deepened my sense of responsibility and purpose. It reminds me to act with sincerity and kindness, knowing that my deeds have consequences beyond this world. It also provides comfort in hardships, as I believe in divine justice.

Collaboration

I contributed to a discussion where we explored how different cultures perceive life after death. I also engaged in a collaborative artwork project, illustrating the concept of scales of justice on Judgment Day, emphasizing the importance of good deeds.

What I Gained

This week’s topic reinforced my awareness of self-accountability. It has encouraged me to be more mindful of my actions and to seek forgiveness for past mistakes.

Suggestions for Improvement

To deepen my understanding, I plan to read more about the experiences of scholars on this topic and engage in discussions with peers to gain different perspectives.

Introduction

Salah (prayer) is the second pillar of Islam and the most significant act of worship. It is a direct link between a Muslim and Allah, performed five times daily as a means of discipline, gratitude, and spiritual purification.
WEEK 7 : APPRECIATION FOR THE NATURE AND ENVIRONMENT

Introduction

Islam teaches us to appreciate and care for the environment as it is a blessing from Allah. The Quran repeatedly reminds us of the beauty and purpose of nature, encouraging us to reflect on its signs and fulfill our duty as stewards (khalifah) of the Earth. By protecting the environment, we show gratitude to Allah and ensure sustainability for future generations.

Understanding the Concept

Nature as a Sign of Allah’s Power: The Quran states, “And We have made from water every living thing.” (Surah Al-Anbiya 21:30). This verse highlights the importance of natural resources in sustaining life.

The Role of Humans as Stewards (Khalifah): Islam teaches that humans must care for the environment, avoiding wastefulness (israf) and destruction (fasad).

Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Teachings on Environmental Care:

Encouraged planting trees, stating, “If a Muslim plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person, or an animal eats from it, it is regarded as a charitable gift (sadaqah) for him.” (Bukhari, Muslim)

Urged conservation of water, even when performing wudu near a river.

Taught kindness to animals and respect for all living beings.

Sustainable Practices in Islam: Islam promotes eco-friendly habits such as reducing waste, conserving water, and maintaining cleanliness.

Personal Reflection

This topic made me realize how often we take nature for granted. Seeing the environment as a trust (amanah) from Allah encourages me to be more responsible. I now make a conscious effort to avoid waste, use resources wisely, and appreciate the beauty of nature as a reflection of Allah’s greatness.

Collaboration

This week, my Usrah group participated in a cleanup activity at a nearby park to promote environmental awareness. I also contributed to a discussion on how Islamic teachings can inspire sustainable living. Additionally, we created a poster encouraging people to reduce plastic waste and adopt eco-friendly habits.

What I Gained

I learned that caring for the environment is not just a social responsibility but also an act of worship (ibadah). Small efforts, such as reducing waste and planting trees, can have a lasting impact. This week’s lesson strengthened my appreciation for nature and reminded me that everything in this world belongs to Allah.

Suggestions for Improvement

To improve my commitment to environmental care, I plan to adopt more sustainable habits, such as reducing single-use plastics and using water more efficiently. I also hope to spread awareness among friends and family about the importance of protecting our environment from an Islamic perspective.
