Peregrine falcons have a wide population that spreads all over the world. For example, Peregrine falcons are on every continent except Antarctica. Peregrines also live in urban cities, tropics, deserts, and tundras. Urban cities help peregrines because of the high buildings that makes it easy to catch prey.

When time is up an eyases, or chick, comes out of the egg, it takes 6 weeks for the chick to become full grown.

Peregrines are very high on the food chain. But, that doesn't mean some large birds can't kill them. Peregrines love songbirds, ducks, bats, starlings and pigeons. hey usually catch their prey in mid-air, although they only catch about 20% of the dives end up in a catch. Some birds like Golden eagles can actually kill and eat peregrines, but this rarely happens.

Peregrine falcons have very interesting physical features. They have slate feathers on the outside which can range from many toned- down colors. They also have very streamlined bodies and small heads to be more successful when diving, to shape them in almost a torpedo shape. Their wingspan is 3.5 feet to help them glide through the air

Peregrines have a very interesting way of catching prey. What they do is they dive from high above and hit the speed of 200 mph. They dive and catch their prey but sometimes they miss. Cities and urban areas have helped them with the dive because of the tall buildings.

Peregrine falcons used to be endangered and even almost went extinct. What caused this was a pesticide called DDT. What it did was it thinned the eggshell and reduced to the hatching success of chicks. This caused a lot of damage to the species and even killed about 3,550 breeding pairs. But, in 1994, many of the breeding pairs recovered and this was marked as one of the greatest animal recoveries in all america.
