Definition: What the world revolves around. Money can make people do some sketchy things. Blackmail, fraud. The rising amount of people who pretend to be a medium in order to make money off peoples beliefs or the hope that they can say good bye to a loved one, is horrible.
Connection: Mediums we come across a lot of them in our lives, from card readings, from people claiming that they can hear or see our loved ones and that they have a message for us in order to make money. I'm not saying this is always the case, but I am saying that more often then not it is. The link below shows us 7 tricks that many people use in order to make a quick buck while saying they are a medium.

Definition: Creating a mystery leaves people in a sense of wonder. This leaves people with a sense of doubt about real science because real science can not explain and give you the same results.
Connection: When you think about Ouija boards what is the first thing you think about? You think about the mystery and how it is something that you can never explain, therefore your brain automatically jumps to the paranormal. That someone is talking to you from the afterlife. The unexplainable creates a mystery that we as humans usually don't question because who doesn't love a good mystery. Below is a link to why Ouija boards really work. Showing us that just because its a mystery we cant just expect it to be the paranormal.

Definition: Using peoples faiths or religions in order to convince them that something is happening to them for a certain reason. Or even that if they don't use or do something that they will be punished in the afterlife. We see this in the bible or in media or older people all the time.
Connection: People who worship a one religion are often left seeing the same type of ghost for example. Since we have to beliefs we are more likely to believe the same bad things will happen to us. The link below links to a article explaining why this is so. And allows us to think that just because something is happening to someone that it usually has nothing to do with faith but allowing ourselves to believe that is the reason why our brains are seeing certain things in some cases.

Definition: Using that its all natural and that is healthy and will help you more then any medication or that it will help your hair grow faster because its all natural and so worth the price, which it usually costs a lot.
Connection: Just because a item is all natural doesn't mean that is healthy or better, in some cases something all natural can actually be dangerous to someone's health. For example unfiltered water. Unfiltered water can contain may different minerals that are actually really bad for our health. The link below takes you to a article about the true dangerous of trusting when someone says its all natural, sometimes your not only paying extra for no reason but it could be one big lie.

Definition: Using big words to make something sound smarter and leading people to believe that something is real when it really isn't.
Connection: We have all been there reading things and random words we don't know that are long and complicated are thrown around making something seem more reliable then what it actually is. Lets take anti-vaccines for a example we all know why its important but some people are convinced about the language and no we have a growing problem of people not using the vaccines. The link below takes you to a youtube video that they use this type of language to try and convince people.

Definition: Some things cant fully be explained, nor do some people want things to be explained. Therefore when there isn't enough evidence they can just say there isn't a reason to believe in something else.
Connection: There isn't enough evidence in some peoples eyes that ghosts do not exists and even the evidence that there is against it there is some for it, so they say who really knows.

Leading us to believe that if we hope enough we can talk to someone from the afterlife.
Connection: Mediums give a lot of people hope that they are getting a message from the other side and it is just what they are hoping for and need to cope with the death of someone usually.

Definition: Some people are suck in their ways and even know they have so much proof that something is not true, they still choose to go with it because they don't want to leave their comfort zone. Mostly because the fear of the unknown.
Connection: When we were little we had it suck in our heads that our imaginary friends were real. Mostly because we felt as if they protected us and if they were gone who would be our friends. usually this is something we would grow out of but for some people it grows into something else, maybe even the paranormal to explain things that are right in front of them. Some people just need the push to leave the comfort zone.
