Ring topology – Computers and devices are connected to each other. Each computer functions as a checkpoint and charges the signal before sending it to the next station.

Star topology – All computers and devices are connected to each other, and in addition, a hub, switch or router. They all control the flow of the data through the network to each other. The star topology is the most common type of network.
