I believe that the biggest issue on the island is that the boys need to focus on what’s in need, like more smoke signals, food, and water, instead of arguing over groups and tribes, and who does what. They should all contribute to helping themselves survive.

I think I would solve this issue by assigning people groups and assignments. Jack, of course, and his choir, can be the hunters, like in the book. The littluns need a realistic job, considering they’re the younger boys. I think I would have them collect small sticks and green branches to add to the fire and make smoke. Then, me, and a couple of older people, like Piggy and maybe Simon, can explore the island to inform the others about the terrain.

If I was chief, I would assign people to the fire. If they did not maintain the fire, we would exile them for a couple days, then assign them to the fire for a week. If they stumble upon our tribe, we will take them as prisoners. Then, we would offer them to the beast.

I believe that this is the biggest issue because they talk over each other and don't listen to each other's ideas. They don't communicate with each other on who is doing what job so evidently the fire signal was lost and they ended up killing Simon. If they just communicated I'm positive this would have not happened. For example on pg 44 piggy says ¨Oh shut up, I have the conch¨ said piggy in a hurt voice . ¨I got the right to speak¨ this shows that while they already talked about how whoever had the conch could only talk know one actually followed it. Voting for me would ensure that you would remain safe and not at risk for being killed and would ensure that your voice will always be heard and taken into consideration.

I believe this because without a steady supply of food, you wouldn't have enough energy to build a fire, let alone do much else. Even in the text, the boys were having trouble hunting and rarely got food, and spent most people on their hunting resources split only with the need to build a fire.

If I were chief, I would solve this issue by teaching the half of the older kids how to sneak up on prey and make bows and arrows. I would then divide the older kids into groups to have a hunting rotation. Once that is done, I will teach the other half of the older kids how to fight like soldiers and make weapons. Then I will teach the little kids how to look for fruit and know which fruits are ripe. Next I would divide the little kids into groups. Last, I will assign a couple soldiers to each fruit-gathering group and add a rotation so the kids who weren't doing something like hunting and gathering would be helping with the fire and other things.

If I was chief I would create rules that made sure everyone could have a voice in what they think is right. I would also assign everyone jobs that would rotate weekly so that no one person would have the same job every week, this way no one would get bored of their job and just stop doing. Doing this would make sure that everyone would be productive and so many different tasks could be completed at one time. I would also have strict rules on communication because it is not fair for someone to not get heard and if someone did not follow the rules consequences would occur because we all deserve the chance to voice our opinion. My idea is very ethical, use the materials on the island to make some sort of a projectile shooter and threaten all of them into obeying me. I would be like a dictator but not evil. Punish people who don't follow the rules. I would make a sort of department of people who would be the "punishers". There are many things they can do and those all depend on what you did. For example if someone kicks sand into someones eyes, no food for the night. If they do something like what jack did to Simon, then the punishment can be more severe, some including piggy sitting on them, being shoved of the cliff and being half drowned, being brought up and back in. This is how the issue will be solved quickly.

The littluns still don’t really do anything but sleep, eat, and cry so if them being afraid doesn’t affect the biguns that actually work, then pretty much nothing is affected and no more problems if the biguns are sensible.
