         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Suez Crisis began when Britain, France, and Israel invaded Egypt to recover control of the Suez Crisis. During the invasion of Egypt, ten Israeli brigades moved toward the canal, routing Egyptian forces. Following their strategy, Britain and France requested that Israeli and Egyptian forces leave the canal, and they indicated that they would intervene to impose an UN-ordered cease-fire. The US did not join the opposing forces because it believed it was critical to maintaining good relations with the Arabs in order to seek their support against the Soviets.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This event was a landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in which the Court ruled that the Constitution of the United States protects a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction. In January 1973, the Supreme Court issued a 7–2 decision in McCorvey's favor ruling that the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution provides a "right to privacy" that protects a pregnant woman's right to choose whether to have an abortion. It also ruled that this right is not absolute and must be balanced against governments' interests in protecting women's health and prenatal life.</div>]]></description>
