Would have me to be approved on both sides by admin but we have discussed possibility of an MOU between MLML and UCSC to charge internal rates to affiliated faculty for unique facilities on the two campuses

As a UCSC grad (Bio PhD), I have more than a passing interest in helping MLML realize its Mission in the real world. As for what that could mean, depends on the specs of what this new structure might be.

Petra -- wrt finance -- we should connect on the ongoing cooperative agreements between MBARI and MLML. Obviously we foresee continuing our participation in the library and seawater systems, etc. It'd be good to make sure we're on the same page, and also introduce you personally to Kaya Johnson and Antje Boetius as I transition out of the Pres/CEO role.
