Even though the red panda is really cute, it would be very hard to have a red panda in my house. I feel like it would try to attack my animals, eat my kitten, and I think it would end out in a mess. Some challenges would probably be making it legal to keep a red panda, being able to provide food for it, Keeping it occupied, etc. When I am at school, no one is at my house. My sisters are always at school and my mom is at work. So, I would probably come home to seeing the house tore down. That would be very hard to work with! That is why I cannot get a red panda!

The obvious problem is the money of the pet. And some others are giving it the right food and making sure it is happy, and that is hard because you don't know what it likes to do. And another one that is the most important to me is that I don't know if it would be good with the other things in the house like dogs other humans. And like the things we have to do around the house, like mowing, vacuuming and do things that include loud noises.

In order to have a pet, you'd have to show it large amounts of attention. Although, having a red panda as a pet, I believe it would require even more maintenance and time than, for example, a dog. Also, despite their adorable appearance, they behave like a wild animal, since that's what they are. It's in their DNA to be aggressive and vicious. I personally wouldn't have this animal as my pet, since it could cause serious damage in my home, but I would definitely own an axolotl! Axolotls are kept in a tank, which is better than having a red panda running around and destroying your pillows. They could also harm me by using their sharp claws to rip through my flesh, unlike an axolotl. All in all, I'd rather own an axolotl than a red panda, since they don't require much attention and they're easier to maintain. :)

Some challenges that would be very prominent in 'owning' a pet red panda would be:
-There would be lots of scratching and biting due to the genetic coding of the creature deeming it a "wild" creature, or a creature/animal made with adaptations and behavior to live without human supervision.
-You would have to make an environment that would make the red panda feel as if it were still at home, or in the wild, if you could own a pet red panda.
- A struggle in adopting a red panda would be the fact that YOU have to pay for the food, YOU have to pay for the medicine if it gets sick. Once you adopt a zoo animal, you pay for it. You would also have to visit it periodically to ensure that the care it is receiving is up to your par.

All in all, adopting a red panda is costly and expensive as well as a lot of effort. But if you want to adopt one at the zoo for sure, then there are a lot of cuddly benefits as well! It all comes down to your opinion and commitment to it!

A challenge you would face when having a red panda would definitely be food. What you would feed your fluffy pal. Red pandas are omnivores, that means they eat both plants AND animals. Feeding them just one may result in some problems but getting to both may also be difficult. Another would be their domestication. Red pandas can be trained and tamed but most read pandas aren't domesticated. They aren't really meant to be in a house and around people without possibly hurting or breaking something. It would be risky to try. Other pets or plants may be in danger. But even if you can prove everything I said wrong, it's still very illegal. Thanks and please don't try to adopt one... I don't wanna see the screw ups...

In short, because of the law, lack of domestication, and difficulty to provide for one, the adorable fluffy creature may just have to stay outdoors. Bye byes!

The red pandas are certainly interesting and adorable organisms! As much as I would love to snuggle up with one in my home, I would definitely fear its compatibility (or lack thereof) with my three incredibly lazy cats. I am a fan of following the law as well, and as we've learned, endangered animals such as the red panda are off-limits as house pets. All in all, I'd probably take the route of "adopting" a red panda at a participating zoo as opposed to harboring an illegal pet that may or may not attack my cats (one is pictured below).

Yeah its illegal and you would be stealing*it would totally be worth it*. Then you would have to get the food it eats, which that may be difficult. Then you would have to mimic its habitat. That would take a lot of time and money. Also it lives in the mountains and it may not have the same climate. Its also not attuned to the loud noises and actions that suburban areas have. Keeping it entertained would also be a big problem because they may do things that you can't do in your house. Overall Red Pandas are unique and need the right amount of care so be carefull.

Well, the first and main thing is that it's illegal and since it's an endangered animal it's probably a huge crime. Another thing is your taking an animal into your home which means it won't be used to the habitat. Another thing is you can't take it to get it trained since your not even supposed to have it so you'll just have a wild animal on the loose at your house. Lastly it would be hard to find the food for the animal.

For one, I would LOVE to have a Red Panda as a pet. But there would be some complications. First, Red Pandas are illegal, so you would have to deal with the government and all of the issues that come with that. Second, house pets are usually trained to behave, and Red Pandas wouldn't know not to tear up a couch or use the bathroom on the floor. Next, you would have to deal with the fact that your home is not the animals usual habitat. They would have a hard time surviving where there were no trees. I also think you would have to deal with the fact there is no store bought "Red Panda" food, like there is "Dog Food". You would have to buy therenatural food. Lastly most vets wouldn't take in Red Panda's as a patient. You might have a hard time keeping it healthy. All though I must say, having a Red Panda would be quite interesting.

Second red panda's have an extra "thumb" which if red pandas are anything like cats, having them in your house will be problematic. It would cause a mess. Another problem would be that we are pulling then out of their habitat, and since we don't have the resources to make then feel at home like the zoo.
