Much of her role includes managing teams of beauty therapists and overseeing ongoing training and support of new members and existing members of staff. Luisa gained valuable insight into the standard of many beauty therapists and feels truly blessed to be a part of the educational system and prepare new professionals for the ever-growing and rewarding beauty industry.

Something you may not know about Luisa:

She was born into the industry and grew up in salons owned by her mother. She grew up with the culture of nails and women socialising in an environment of relaxation and beauty therapies.

Sarah is a confident individual who learns best through visual and hands-on experiences. She brings with her a range of strengths, including adaptability, time management, leadership and problem-solving. Her confidence is particularly strong when it comes to setting goals and sharing ideas; however, she acknowledges that she would benefit from further support in areas such as managing complaints and delivering presentations to clients or groups.

Her initial knowledge base is solid, especially in areas such as client care, safeguarding, British Values, and Equality & Diversity. She has a developing understanding of anatomy and physiology and health and safety, which will be essential for success in this qualification. Sarah’s learning style lends itself well to the practical nature of the course, and she is eager to engage with the treatment processes and technical elements of laser and IPL delivery.

To support Sarah throughout the duration of her qualification, a tailored approach will be adopted. Practical learning opportunities will be prioritised to align with her visual learning style, helping her to consolidate technical knowledge through direct experience. Confidence-building strategies will be implemented, such as roleplay and small-group tasks, to help her develop stronger communication skills and prepare her for managing difficult client conversations.

Anatomy and physiology knowledge will be revisited and linked to treatment procedures, reinforcing her understanding through practical application. Assignment support will be provided, with guidance on how to approach writing at a Distinction level, including structuring her responses, referencing where appropriate, and applying critical thinking. SMART target-setting will be used throughout to help Sarah stay focused and motivated, allowing her to track her own progress and reflect on areas for development.

In addition to meeting the course outcomes, Sarah has also expressed a strong interest in developing her long-term goal of salon ownership. To support this, additional conversations around business planning, compliance, and industry expectations will be integrated where possible, alongside optional opportunities to engage with guest speakers or relevant CPD workshops.

Sarah is starting her journey with determination, focus, and a clear sense of purpose. With continued encouragement, structured academic support, and opportunities to grow her confidence, she is well-placed to succeed both in the qualification and in her broader professional aspirations.
