I think this is the first year I have had seniors (I picked up additional licenses this year) and so far they have all completed their course with a 70% or above.

I have a senior whose dad is motivating him to finish his last credits to graduate by renting him a sports car to drive to graduation. His dad is going to send me a picture because it looks like he will finish and graduate, although it sure has come down to the wire. We have talked via phone several times in hopes to keep him focused and motivated and I think it has helped him see the value in getting his diploma.

I have a senior that has struggled some with the material, but has an overall grade above an 80%. The student is still worried about their grade though. I had a phone conversation with the student's school counselor/mentor today and we'll both be partnering to work with the student to make sure they get over the finish line.

I had a senior who was at 76% complete since March 25 and had those PE indicators flashing! I could not get a response to any communication attempts. Finally, I called the mentor. He extended the end date a week and after 1 day, our student jumped to 96% complete! Another senior to cross the stage!! And as always, it is about them, their timing their decisions. I just needed to patiently wait, belive in them, and provide frequent prompts. In the end, the mentor provided the onramp to success! I love traveling this road with the students and watching them succeed.

I just left an amazing video call with one of my seniors. He is trying to get 11 classes complete before the end of June. We set some goals and talked about future careers he wants to pursue (he is in 2 of my Career Explorations courses). I also talked with his mom today and she was super helpful for my encounter today and said, "he needed that." Yay!!!!!

I have a senior that had a baby at the end of February. That was her response to a pacing strategy I suggested, I had no idea. I was able to contact her school and her classes were extended. She responds to my text every time. She is now working regularly and catching up for her last 2 half credits for graduation.

I just closed out one of my few seniors. She had the goal of finishing her course early (by 3 weeks) to align with her in-person classes. She worked incredibly hard and accomplished her goal. She then informed me that the courses she had taken with me this year (anatomy and then physiology) had inspired her to pursue animal medical science in higher ed.

Win for today - last week I sent out pacing emails to meet me on either Wed or Thur at 6 p.m. to get help or reply that a student could do the work on their own. One student replied that he needed help, but then didn't tell me what he needed help with. I followed up with a phone call today and got the student to join an in person session. He had no idea about how to contact a teacher in the IVP or book a meeting. I know I send out help things about this early on, but it really seems that next fall I need to implement a check in, here is how to use the ivp, meeting. So much confusion is eliminated with in person meetings and so few students make use of them.
